The Fender Jazzmaster, first introduced in 1958, was designed to be Fender's top-of-the-line guitar.

Initially aimed at jazz musicians, it quickly found favor in the surf rock scene of the 1960s and later gained iconic status in alternative rock and indie circles.

Some of the most notable players of the Jazzmaster include Tom Verlaine, Elvis Costello, J Mascis of Dinosaur Jr., Robert Smith, Johnny Marr,  and Nels Cline of Wilco. Each has showcased the guitar’s versatility, using its signature tone and innovative electronics to define their sound. Over the years, the Jazzmaster has cemented itself as a favorite among those who appreciate its bold looks and distinctive character.

This 1968 Fender Jazzmaster is a great piece of musical history. Nearly untouched by time, it retains its original components aside from a professional refret and a new jack plug (original included), ensuring optimal playability without sacrificing its vintage charm. With its two-tone appearance—a result of the red pigment in its three-tone sunburst finish fading over the decades—it offers a striking visual that harkens back to the earlier two-tone designs of the 1950s.

Key Features :

- Authenticity: all original electronics, hardware, and finish (except for the frets),

- Finish Aging: The sunburst's red layer has faded, leaving a gorgeous two-tone aesthetic of amber and black.

- Improved Playability: The refret has been expertly executed, ensuring smooth, reliable playability while maintaining the integrity of the original fretboard.

If you’re a collector, a gigging musician, or simply a lover of Fender history, this rare Jazzmaster is your opportunity to own a piece of musical legend. Don’t miss out on this singular instrument—its two-tone beauty and timeless tone are waiting to inspire your next musical journey.
