The Bandmaster, like the Blond Bassman, represents a pivotal moment in the evolution of Fender amplifiers, bridging the gap between the tweed era of the 1950s and the blackface models of the mid-1960s. Originally introduced in the mid-1950s as part of Fender's professional amplifier line, the "Blond" Bandmaster, which is our focus, was produced from 1960 to 1964.

These amps were covered in "Blond" Tolex with a light brown or "wheat" grill cloth, and featured a brown or "chocolate" control panel, earning them the nickname "Brownface" amps. The Bandmaster was designed as a "piggyback" model, with a separate head and speaker cabinet—a popular configuration for Fender amps at the time. It came with a 2x12-inch speaker cabinet.

Delivering around 40 watts of power, the Bandmaster was loud enough for most live performances. This output was perfect for the clean, powerful tones favored in surf music, country, and early rock and roll. The amp also features the sought-after Brownface-era tremolo, with a recent footswitch included.

This particular unit is in excellent condition, with its original transformers and speakers intact. It is also a highly sought-after early export version that includes a 117/220v red switch on the back, adding to its versatility.
