1963 Gibson GA-30RVT Invader in very good condition, complete with its original two-button footswitch. Well-preserved and fully functional, this amp is outfitted with a full vintage tube set and a pair of recent Jensen speakers: a 12" C12R ceramic driver paired with a 10" P10R alnico speaker.

Because, what makes this amp so special is that it is equipped with a 12inch and a 10inch speaker :

- A 12-inch speaker emphasizes low end and midrange "body."

- A 10-inch speaker tends to have a quicker response, tighter low end, and more high-end clarity.

Together, they balance out: the 12" fills the room with warmth and depth, while the 10" adds articulation and bite.

History

The Gibson Invader GA30 RVT has been produced from 1962 to 1967. RVT stands for Reverb & Tremolo. Following the GA30 RV produced from 1959 till 1961 which was tweed covered the RVT model is covered with dark gray tolex.

Details

Thanks to its open-back cabinet and unique mix of speaker sizes and magnet types, the GA-30RVT delivers an impressively wide and articulate sound. Clean tones are bold and defined, with a punchy edge when pushed, while the amp begins to break up nicely around the halfway point on the “Loudness” control—offering rich saturation, bite, and growl. The Reverb section is particularly unusual, functioning more as a volume control than a blend, which allows the effect to shine through even with the amp volume rolled down (producing an airy, almost otherworldly quality). When turned up, the reverb itself develops natural overdrive characteristics. The Tremolo is equally striking, with a lush depth and powerful pulsation.

The circuit has only been serviced where necessary, including fresh electrolytic capacitors and a safe, modern three-prong power cord (amp is in original 110v with external 220v transformer in the cabinet.

All original transformers are intact, and the pots are factory-original as well. The majority of the circuit is still arranged on its dual tag boards, filled with the original carbon comp resistors.

Cosmetically, the amp is in very good condition, showing light wear consistent with age. It retains its original smooth brown tolex covering, two-tone grill cloth, a bold Gibson badge on the front, clean graphics across the aluminum faceplate, and its full set of reflector cap knobs.
